Going Plant-Forward? Dietary Publics and Plant-Based Lifestyle Advocacy in Contemporary China
A growing body of research has examined the rise of civil society efforts to green China’s food system, and this article contributes to such discussions by examining the case of plant-based food and lifestyle advocacy. Amid emerging paradoxes in China’s food production and consumption trends, examining individuals and groups who promote distinct diets such as veganism offers new insights into civi
Thirty years of prospective nationwide incidence of childhood type 1 diabetes : the accelerating increase by time tends to level off in Sweden
OBJECTIVE: During the past few decades, a rapidly increasing incidence of childhood type 1 diabetes (T1D) has been reported from many parts of the world. The change over time has been partly explained by changes in lifestyle causing rapid early growth and weight development. The current study models and analyzes the time trend by age, sex, and birth cohort in an exceptionally large study group.RES
Beyond Ethnographic Representation
This chapter deals with ways in which digital technologies can be utilized to work with moving media in hybrid ways. I will shortly present a practice of what I call probing. It is an extended, evocative, and open-ended process of art making and research. I will present a selection of projects that explore notions of noise, blend modes, and live cinema. I will discuss notions of noise, the provisi

Double nudges can accelerate the transition towards more climate-friendly diets – experiment involving default meals and carbon footprint information
There is an increasing focus on the importance of reducing red meat consumption for environmental as well as health reasons. In this study, we have assessed how consumers' choice of protein source in a meal could be affected by two nudging tools. The first nudge consisted of serving a plant-based steak as the default option instead of beef, alongside placing the plant-based steak at the top of theThere is an increasing focus on the importance of reducing red meat consumption for environmental as well as health reasons. Accent perception in heritage speakers of Italian and migrants from Italy
Little is known about how heritage speakers (HS s) and first-generation migrants perceive global accents, including those of their own peers. Our study compares the accent perception of 107 Italian-speaking individuals belonging to three groups: HS s, migrants, and homeland controls. These three groups rated speech samples from second language learners (L2ers), homeland speakers, and other HS s. T
Violent conflict and taxation : Micro-level evidence from Burkina Faso
This study analyzes how violent conflict influences taxation in a poor, conflict-affected country, Burkina Faso. We use a unique, large, and representative panel dataset on tax collection of firms between 2015 and 2022 and geographically match these data with indicators of violent conflict at the municipal level. We find that firms pay a lower amount of tax in areas affected by violence. We also fThis study analyzes how violent conflict influences taxation in a poor, conflict-affected country, Burkina Faso. Ett snedsteg ut: Krami deltagarnas brotts intiativ och förändringsprocesser
Krami is a place and organization in central Malmö that helps criminals and addicts to find employment with the goal of becoming self-sufficient and changing their lifestyle. För den bästa starten i livet – En etnologisk undersökning i valet av förlossningsplats.
For the best start in life – An ethnological study into the choice of birth place. This ethnological essay aims to investigate and create a deeper understanding of the underlying reasons for different individuals' choices of birthing locations, and how they can possibly give us a deeper understanding of the ideals that exist within Swedish maternity care today. To answer this, I have intervie
Sleep difficulties are frequently reported in the general population, and insomnia is among the most prevalent of sleep disorders, with substantial consequences for daytime functioning and psychological well-being. Prior studies have linked insomnia to several sociodemographic and clinical factors. However, knowledge is limited in how these factors together relate to symptom severity, treatment pa

In this chapter, the basic aspects of these issues are discussed, as well as thoughts on when patch testing should be probably, with what to patch test, especially considering the baseline series, and pitfalls when patch test reading.
Delayed plasma kallikrein inhibition fosters post-stroke recovery by reducing thrombo-inflammation
Activation of the kallikrein-kinin system promotes vascular leakage, inflammation, and neurodegeneration in ischemic stroke. Inhibition of plasma kallikrein (PK) – a key component of the KKS – in the acute phase of ischemic stroke has been reported to reduce thrombosis, inflammation, and damage to the blood-brain barrier. However, the role of PK during the recovery phase after cerebral ischemia is
Thromboinflammation in Brain Ischemia : Recent Updates and Future Perspectives
Despite decades of promising preclinical validation and clinical translation, ischemic stroke still remains as one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. Within its complex pathophysiological signatures, thrombosis and inflammation, that is, thromboinflammation, are highly interconnected processes leading to cerebral vessel occlusion, inflammatory responses, and severe neuronal d
Experimental Logics of Street Transformations
Street experiments are proliferating in cities worldwide and have emerged as an approach to transform urban mobility and public space. Previous research attests to the broad spectrum of street experimentation and its variety of stakeholders, aims, methods, and impacts. In this article, we probe this multi‐faceted nature through a study of the landscape of street experimentation as it evolved in on
Measuring Patient Experience and Patient Satisfaction—How Are We Doing It and Why Does It Matter? A Comparison of European and U.S. American Approaches
(1) Background: Patients’ experiences and satisfaction with their treatment are becoming increasingly important in the context of quality assurance, but the measurement of these parameters is accompanied by several disadvantages such as poor cross-country comparability and methodological problems. The aim of this review is to describe and summarize the process of measuring, publishing, and utilizi
