LAUGH – Lund Assembly for Universal and Global History

LAUGH brings together researchers working on global and transnational history across periods, regions, and disciplinary boundaries, from early modern Eurasian exchanges and global commodity chains to transnational activism and comparative studies of institutions and ideas. The name is deliberately playful; the ambition is serious: to establish Lund as a hub for global history in Sweden, and as an axis for international collaboration. The node coordinates seminars, brown bag lunches, writing retreats, invited talks, and workshops on non-European and multilingual data. The node importantly serves as a springboard for new global projects, especially those of early-career researchers. LAUGH is an inclusive network, gathering colleagues at all career stages from East Asian studies, history, Middle Eastern studies, economic history, history of ideas, theology, religious studies, and archaeology, with an interest in global perspectives.
