Molecular classification of urothelial carcinoma : global mRNA classification versus tumour-cell phenotype classification
Global mRNA expression analysis is efficient for phenotypic profiling of tumours, and has been used to define molecular subtypes for almost every major tumour type. A key limitation is that most tumours are communities of both tumour and non-tumour cells. This problem is particularly pertinent for analysis of advanced invasive tumours, which are known to induce major changes and responses in both
Current research information systems and/as research evaluation infrastructures: the Pure/Lucris example
Drawing on Star and Bowker’s (2006) ideas on ‘infrastructures’, as well as on Åström’s (2016) discussion on using Star and Bowker’s ideas as an analytical framework for studying research evaluation practices, this talk aims at outlining an investigation of the Pure system using the infrastructure framework. Pure is a Current Research Information System (CRIS), developed by Elsevier, in the researc

Editorial: This focus is dedicated to a special trend on the scenes of contemporary music: composers going on stage to perform their own pieces. The presented articles were developed during my research project 'The Creator on Stage'. They can be read as selection of perspectives, commentaries, analyses, reflections and gained knowledge-production on the topic. The intention with the project was part

The gut microbiome as a target for prevention and treatment of hyperglycaemia in type 2 diabetes: from current human evidence to future possibilities
The totality of microbial genomes in the gut exceeds the size of the human genome, having around 500-fold more genes that importantly complement our coding potential. Microbial genes are essential for key metabolic processes, such as the breakdown of indigestible dietary fibres to short-chain fatty acids, biosynthesis of amino acids and vitamins, and production of neurotransmitters and hormones. Interpolation of multicomponent streamer data using extended structure tensors. Part 2 : Interpolating the pressure field's depth derivative
We present a data-driven interpolation method, based on extended structure tensors. The method uses directional information, extracted from the crossline derivative of the pressure field, to interpolate both pressure field and its normal (depth) derivative. Here we focus on the interpolation of the normal derivative.
Interpolation of multicomponent streamer data using extended structure tensors. Part 1 : Interpolating the pressure field
We present a data-driven method, based on extended structure tensors, that interpolates multicomponent, marine seismic data. The method is designed to interpolate pressure measurements and their normal derivatives using directional information from the crossline derivative of the pressure field.
