Våldtäkter diskuteras ofta och i många olika sammanhang. Många, främst unga kvinnor, utsätts årligen på något sätt för sexualbrott. Majoriteten är mildare brott men de senaste 40 åren har antalet anmälda våldtäkter tiodubblats och under samma tid har antalet som fälls för våldtäkter i stort sett varit detsamma.
