I uppsaCare under the Swedish Care of Young Persons Act has during the year 2020 been spoken about in media more than usual. During 2020 the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child entered into force as a Swedish law. The purpose with this thesis is to investigate whether the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as Swedish law has influenced the assessment on termination of care under the Care of Y

Through a comparative analysis of works by street artists Faile and Banksy, from both the street and the gallery, I make the point that the field of modern street art is not as homogenous as the media and the established art world often portray it. By differentiating between sub- and counter-cultural agents, I point out the span of social and ideological backgrounds within the street art culture a

”The queer disappearance of Butler" : När Judith Butler introducerades i svensk feministisk forskning, 1990-2002

This article on the Swedish reception of the work and theories of feminist philosopher Judith Butler follows four feminist fields that introduced and discussed Butler’s work from the early 1990’s to the early 2000’s; the first and earliest being the radical feminist field, followed by the field of feminist literary studies, the field of queer theory and, as a field of its own, the various translat

The Öresund region, or Greater Copenhagen as it also is represented as, is a cross-border region connecting Skåne with Copenhagen. Political initiatives have forced development towards a more integrated region with one regional identity. This has been complicated by border controls, redefining the national borders in an inconvenient way, especially for everyday transnational commuters. Through sem

Start-ups as The Driver of Circular Economy: The Case of Indonesia

This study illuminates the pivotal role of start-ups in driving circular economy (CE) implementation in Indonesia. Using the Multi-Level Perspective (MLP) framework, this research explores the dynamic contributions of start-ups in fostering sustainable transitions from a linear to a circular economy. The qualitative data collection involved document review and semi-structured interviews, revealing

"The Catholic Danger”: The Changing Patterns of Swedish Anti-Catholicism 1850-1965

In the 1860s, Sweden’s harsh religious legislation was liberalised. The Dissenter Act legalised conversions to other Christian denominations, but it put in place many obstacles to leaving the established church, and many of the legal restrictions were obviously anti-Catholic in intent. Anti-Catholic sentiment was also expressed in conjunction with the legislative proposals and parliamentary debate

Rendering Slow Ecological Crisis in a Popular Medium : Hyperobjects and Sámi Resistance in the Swedish-French TV Series Midnight Sun

The article examines the ways in which the slowly evolving and invisible processes of the ongoing ecological crisis can be represented in the format of a contemporary serial television drama. The author argues that despite heavy reliance on spectacular and captivating character-born plots, the long-form storytelling of new television narratives can be well suited to representing the complex and un

SammanhangetWhat makes something funny? This is the most basic, underlying question to this thesis, which explores the Swedish satire magazines Söndags-Nisse, Naggen and Strix on their journey through the pinnacle of the Swedish democratization process during the years 1918 to 1922. These types of magazines were of great popularity throughout all of Europe during parts of the late 19th century up until the in

I svensk rätt finns inget straffbud som uttryckligen tar siktThe term “economic violence” is a concept that is relatively unfamiliar to many, which only in recent years has begun to find its way into the media and the general social debate. Many researchers regard economic violence as a very serious issue and, above all, as a major risk that may cause women that are victims of domestic violence to stay in a violent relationship. In Swedish law, there are n
