Multiparticle-hole States of High Spin in N

High-spin states of the neutron deficient nucleus Nb-88 have been studied following the reaction Fe-56 (Cl-35, 2pn) Nb-88 at 120 and 123 MeV bombarding energy. Neutron gated and pure gamma gamma-coincidences were measured with a neutron-gamma gamma-coincidence setup; in addition gamma gamma-coincidences were detected with the OSIRIS-cube at the Cologne tandem accelerator. Via the analysis of gamma

Hepatitis E virus infections in patients with acute hepatitis non-A-D in Sweden

A total of 12 patients previously treated for acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology were retrospectively found to be anti-hepatitis E virus (HEV) IgG-positive. Four patients were anti-HEV IgM- and IgG-positive consistent with an acute HEV infection. All 4 had travelled to or were immigrants from HEV-endemic countries. One anti-HEV IgM-negative patient seroconverted from anti-HEV IgG-negative to pos

The upper limit of flammability of hydrogen in air, oxygen, and oxygen-inert mixtures at elevated pressures

The upper limit of flammability of hydrogen in air, oxygen, oxygen-helium, oxygen-neon, oxygen-argon and oxygen-carbon dioxide mixtures was measured at room temperature and pressures between 0.97 and 29 atm in two cylindrical bombs with volumes of 1.5 and 5.2 liters. The limit in ternary mixtures was determined in 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% helium, 20% neon and argon and 10% carbon dioxide concentratio

Test-retest reliability of knee kinesthesia in healthy adults

Background Sensory information from mechanoreceptors in the skin, muscles, tendons, and joint structures plays an important role in joint stability. A joint injury can lead to disruption of the sensory system, which can be measured by proprioceptive acuity. When evaluating proprioception, assessment tools need to be reliable. The aim of this study was to assess the test-retest reliability of a de

Prevalence and clinical correlations of antibodies against six beta 2-glycoprotein-I-related peptides in the antiphospholipid syndrome

Two-hundred ninety five patients with the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) were studied for the presence of antibodies against six anti-beta2GPI-related peptides Abs. The prevalence of a wide spectrum of clinical and laboratory parameters of APS was evaluated in all patients, and correlated with the presence of each anti-beta2GPI peptide antibody. The rates of the various antipeptides Abs ranged fr

UPPLEVELSER AV SVENSK FILM offers a broad understanding of Swedish cinema during the years between 1985 and 2000. The dissertation focuses on those Swedish films that have been given a wide distribution, i.e. films that in many cases can be considered popular films. (Films that have only obtained a marginal position in the cinemas have not been included.) The films studied attract an average of 2,

Novel diterpenes with potent conidiation inducing activity

The isolation and structure determination of conidiogenol and conidiogenone, tetracyclic diterpenes with a novel carbon skeleton, from extracts of the fermentation broth of Penicillium cyclopium is reported. Conidiogenol and conidiogenone are potent and selective inducers of conidiogenesis in P. cyclopium in liquid culture, and relay information about the environmental conditions to the producing

The Lund Nuclear Microprobe sub-micron set-up. Part I: Ion optics calculation

A new beam line for generating a sub-micron beam spot for high-resolution nuclear microprobe applications has been constructed at the Lund nuclear microprobe facility. In this paper, the first in a series of three, a detailed theoretical investigation of different focusing systems is presented based on calculations performed with the computer programs PRAM and OXTRACE. Comparison is made between a
