Studien behandlar musikundervisningens genrebredd i årskurs 7-9. Intervjuer har utförts med fyra högstadielärare och 17 elever i årskurs 8 på fyra olika skolor i en svensk stad. Utgångs-punkten för studien är att undervisning i flera olika genrer främjar elevernas musikkunskap.
