Construction of register-based commuting measures
Early empirical studies in labour and urban economics addressing the role of commuting (on, e.g., wages and locational choice) have typically been confined to the use of survey data. Researchers are, however, increasingly getting access to large register databases with detailed information on where individuals live and work. A variety of methods have thus emerged to exploit the geocoded characteri

Herwig 7.1 Release Note
A new release of the Monte Carlo event generator Herwig (version 7.1) is now available. This version introduces a number of improvements, notably: multi-jet merging with the dipole shower at LO and NLO QCD; a new model for soft interactions and diffraction; improvements to mass effects and top decays in the dipole shower, as well as a new tune of the hadronisation parameters.
Concomitant use of pembrolizumab and entinostat in adult patients with metastatic uveal melanoma (PEMDAC study) : Protocol for a multicenter phase II open label study
Background: While recent years have seen a revolution in the treatment of metastatic cutaneous melanoma, no treatment has yet been able to demonstrate any prolonged survival in metastatic uveal melanoma. Thus, metastatic uveal melanoma remains a disease with an urgent unmet medical need. Reports of treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors have thus far been disappointing. Based on animal experi
High Plasma sRAGE (Soluble Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Products) Is Associated With Slower Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Progression and Lower Risk for First-Time Coronary Events and Mortality
Objective- RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation end products) and EMMPRIN (extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer) are immune receptors for proinflammatory mediators. These receptors can also be found in a soluble form in the circulation. Soluble RAGE (sRAGE) has shown atheroprotective properties in animal studies, possibly by acting as a decoy receptor for its ligands. Whether sEMMPRIN (

Profitable Net ZEBs - how to break the traditional LCC analysis
Global warming and an increasing population needing more buildings are important issues ahead. Hence, Net ZEBs and green buildings is one of many necessary measures for climate change mitigation. Some studies indicate that improved energy and/or green performance in these buildings may not be profitable. However, a short time perspective and narrow concept for evaluation may be wrong. This study p
Measurement of D , D + , D ∗ + and Ds+ production in pp collisions at √s=5.02TeV with ALICE
The measurements of the production of prompt D , D + , D ∗ + , and Ds+ mesons in proton–proton (pp) collisions at s=5.02TeV with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are reported. D mesons were reconstructed at mid-rapidity (| y| < 0.5) via their hadronic decay channels D → K - π + , D + → K - π + π + , D ∗ + → D π + → K - π + π + , Ds+→ϕπ+→K+K-π+, and their charge conjugates. Color separate singlets in e+ e- annihilation
We use the method of a color effective Hamiltonian to study the properties of states in which a gluonic subsystem forms a color singlet, and we will study the possibility that such a subsystem hadronizes as a separate unit. A parton system can normally be subdivided into singlet subsystems in many different ways, and one problem arises from the fact that the corresponding states are not orthogonal

Teneurin-1, a vertebrate homologue of the Drosophila pair-rule gene ten-m, is a neuronal protein with a novel type of heparin-binding domain
The Drosophila gene ten-m is the first pair-rule gene not encoding a transcription factor, but an extracellular protein. We have characterized a highly conserved chicken homologue that we call teneurin-1. The C-terminal part harbors 26 repetitive sequence motifs termed YD-repeats. The YD-repeats are most similar to the core of the rhs elements of Escherichia coli. Related repeats in toxin A of Clo
Ten-a overexpression causes abnormal pattern in the Drosophila compound eye
Abstract Ten-a is one of the two Drosophila proteins that belong to the Ten M protein family. This protein is a type II transmembrane protein and is expressed mainly in the embryonic CNS, in the larval eye imaginal disc and in the compound eye of the pupa. Here, we investigate the role of ten-a during development of the compound eye by using the Gal4/UAS system to induce ten-a overexpression in th
