Lifetime measurements of terminating and collective high-spin states in 155DY and 156DY

Lifetime measurements for the isotopes 155Dy and 156Dy have been extended up to spins around 40h{stroke} by the Doppler shift attenuation method in conjunction with γ-γ-coincidence measurements. Results have been obtained for the yrast band in 156Dy and for three bands in 155Dy. Strong retardations of the E2-strengt were observed for intruding terminating sequences, for which specific single parti

Legitimizing small modular reactors (SMRs) in Sweden; : an analysis of media coverage 2020-2024

The potential of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) is currently explored in the world. SMRs as technology is still under development but is introduced to the public. In this stage, when much is still uncertain and unknown, media is important. The benefits and risks related to this new technology articulated in media potentially shape different actors' expectations and attitudes towards the technology.

Additivity in superdeformed bands

It is shown that the observed transition energies in the superdeformed bands of 148Gd and 146Gd and the two bands of 147Gd are related by a simple linear expression. This is another indication of the remarkable stability of the superdeformed bands and strongly suggests that only two orbitals are active. The relative properties are analysed in terms of the (effective) aligned spin brought in by spe

Evidence for band termination in118Xe

The yrast band of118Xe has been extended up to tentatively Iπ = 34+ in a heavy-ion in-beam γ-spectroscopic study using the NORDBALL detector array. A band crossing is observed at the highest spins and interpreted within the Modified Oscillator Model as a transition to a terminating band.

Nucleon alignment in 191Hg. A competing mechanism at moderate spins

Detailed spectroscopic studies of the discrete γ-rays feeding and deexciting a 41 2-, 4.6 MeV level in 191Hg are reported. The resulting decay scheme indicates single-particle nature for the states above the 41 2- level. At moderate spin, the corresponding particle alignment mode competes favorably with collective oblate rotation. It is suggested that this sequence is associated with a non-collect

Interpretation of the fine structure in the C14 radioactive decay of Ra223

The experimental hindrance factors determined from the fine structure in the C14 decay of Ra223 are strikingly similar to the hindrance factors observed in the alpha decay of odd-A reflection-asymmetric deformed nuclei in spite of the deformed to spherical shape which occurs in the C14 decay. Calculations of the overlap between the reflection-asymmetric ground state of Ra223 and the spherical shel

Triaxial rotor plus particle description of negative-parity states in 125Xe

Excitation energies and branching ratios in 125Xe have been correctly described by using the triaxial rotor plus particle model with deformation parameter ε{lunate}=0.25 and γ=24°. The observed properties, in particular the degeneracy of the yrast favoured and unfavored bands and the signature inversion in the yrare bands are well described by the model. The distribution of core states in the wave

Communicating in the Face of Global Crises : Organization, Strategy, and ‘Doing the Right Thing’

Communicating in the Face of Global Crises explores the complex ways organizations and their strategic practices are communicatively constituted in relation to the ethical expectations of global publics. Positioning organizational strategies as communicative accomplishments, an international team of authors redirect attention to the important role of communication in constituting responses to glob

Organizational Care Ethics in Times of Geopolitical Crises : A Feminist Perspective

This chapter examines how multinational corporations communicatively navigate moral responsibility during geopolitical crises, focusing on the war in Ukraine. As corporations increasingly are expected to engage with social and political issues, their actions, or inactions, are interpreted as moral stances. We contend that a feminist ethics of care offers a compelling approach through which to unde

Introduction : Communicating in the Face of Global Crises

In an increasingly interconnected and digitalized global world, organizations are confronted with a growing range of complex crises. The COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, environmental disasters resulting from climate change, global financial crises, and misinformation campaigns are just some of the contemporary global developments presenting significant organizing challenges. Positioned at t

Mellan förtroendefulla relationer och anmälningsskyldighet - En studie om skolkuratorers balansgång i arbetet med elever

The aim of this study was to examine how school counsellors experienced and managed the circumstances of developing trustworthy relationships with pupils, while considering the obligation to report. We conducted six semistructured interviews consisting of school counsellors from diverse schools in the southern part of Sweden. The results are presented in three main themes, upon which the first the

Barn och straffbarhetsålder

The purpose of this study was to understand how the proposed legislation to lower the age of criminal responsibility from 15 to 13 years can be understood in relation to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We have used a qualitative method in the form of a document analysis. Our empirical material consisted of the draft of the legislation and relevant articles from the Convention on the Rig

Uppsatsen syftar till att analysera hur användningen av upphovsrättsligt skyddat material som träninThe growing use of generative Artificial intelligence trained on large datasets has increased copyright questions when the training data consists of protected material. The thesis aims to analyze how the use of copyright-protected material as training data can be assessed under both Swedish and EU law, and how the AI Regulations transparency requirements come into play. The study is based on a leg

Studien visar att humorn i IFS – Invandrare för sThis bachelor’s thesis examines how Finnishness is represented in the Swedish public service comedy show IFS – Invandrare för svenskar (2022–2025). Drawing on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and employing a multimodal discourse analysis, the study analyses the show’s humorous portrayals of Finnishness, with particular attention to the interplay between linguistic and visual cues. The findin

Socialsekreterares attityder till AI: En kvantitativ studie gällande AI inom socialtjänsten

The purpose of this study is to explore social workers' attitudes towards AI as an assistive tool and attitudes towards how AI affects the work environment. We have conducted a quantitative study by sending a survey to the social services of the municipalities of Scania, Sweden. Social workers have answered questions regarding how AI affects the work environment and general questions about how
