Mothers’ time use: Marital status, everyday time allocation, and experiences of stress in Sweden 1990/91-2010/11
Ethnic Composition of Couples and Mutual Health Benefit Receipt: Register-Based Evidence from Finland
We study partners’ mutual receipt of sickness allowance and disability pension in ethnically endogamous and exogamous couples in Finland. The population consists of native individuals in similar socioeconomic positions but belonging to two different ethnic groups, Finnish and Swedish speakers, which differ regarding health and cultural practices related to family life. Using data from population r

Turbulent burning velocity and its related statistics of ammoniahydrogenair jet flames at high Karlovitz number : Effect of differential diffusion
To clarify the role of differential diffusion in highly turbulent premixed flames, a series of turbulent premixed ammonia/hydrogen/air flames were investigated using the NH-PLIF diagnostics. The investigated flames have almost the same laminar burning velocity, SL, but are characterized by different Lewis number, Le, from 0.56 to 1.77. The Karlovitz number, Ka, of these flames ranges from 11 to 10
Gas-Phase and Combustion Diagnostics by Infrared Laser-Induced Grating Spectroscopy
Infrared laser-induced grating spectroscopy (IR-LIGS) is a powerful method for the detection of molecules in atmospheric and combustion chemistry by exploiting their strong and species-specific fundamental vibrations. This work discusses potentials and limitations of the method.
Accuracy investigations for volumetric head-motion navigators with and without EPI at 7 T
Purpose: Accuracy investigation of volumetric navigators for motion correction, with emphasis on geometric EPI distortions at ultrahigh field. Methods: High-resolution Dixon images were collected in different head positions and reconstructed to water, fat, T2*, and B0 maps. Resolution reduction was performed, and the T2* and B0 maps were used to apply effects of TE and EPI distortions to simulate
Acute Stress among Nurses in Sweden during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Sweden was hit hard in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic with deaths per capita among the highest in Europe. The pandemic was a stressful time especially for healthcare workers caring for COVID-19 patients. Various studies have evaluated whether nurses caring for these patients had higher levels of acute stress, but typically with measures that either used older DSM-IV criteria for Acute Stre
Environmental impact of single-use, reusable, and mixed trocar systems used for laparoscopic cholecystectomies
INTRODUCTION: Climate change is one of the 21st century's biggest public health issues and health care contributes up to 10% of the emissions of greenhouse gases in developed countries. About 15 million laparoscopic procedures are performed annually worldwide and single-use medical equipment is increasingly used during these procedures. Little is known about costs and environmental footprint of th

SMIRK : A machine learning-based pedestrian automatic emergency braking system with a complete safety case
SMIRK is a pedestrian automatic emergency braking system that facilitates research on safety-critical systems embedding machine learning components. As a fully transparent driver-assistance system, SMIRK can support future research on trustworthy AI systems, e.g., verification & validation, requirements engineering, and testing. SMIRK is implemented for the simulator ESI Pro-SiVIC with core co
Tau biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease : towards implementation in clinical practice and trials
Background: Deposition of tau aggregates is a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease that is closely linked both spatially and temporally to emergence of neurodegeneration and manifestation of clinical symptoms. There is an urgent need for accurate PET, CSF, and plasma biomarkers of tau pathology to improve the diagnostic process in clinical practice and the selection of participants and mon
