Moving Minds: Segmentation, Rhythm and Categorization of Action

ASG 2025-2026 What if rhythm could help us communicate, learn – or even diagnose disease? Movement and rhythm are central to how we live, from walking and speaking to dancing and connecting with others. Drawing on research from cognitive science, neuroscience, robotics, and design, this ASG investigates how we perceive, describe, and replicate movement. Tools like motion capture (MOCAP) allow deta

Themes 2025-2026

Themes consist of researchers from different disciplines at Lund University. They work together one full day a week here at the institute. Each group decides on how to explore the common research problem. Members are expected to be active, open and curious... and prepared to challenge both their own ideas and perspectives as well as the common questions. How do we apply for a Theme?Previous Themes
