"Where should I go next?"

Digital nomadism has been around for more than two decades. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a shift from traditional office work to remote work, which made the digital nomad lifestyle more accessible for a larger group of individuals. Digital nomads represent a great opportunity for destinations as they help boost the local economy. Therefore, it is important for destinations t

“We are dealing here with a hydroelectric dam, we are not building a nuclear plant” : A case study of securitization processes in water cooperation contexts

In 2011, Ethiopia began the construction of the “Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam” (GERD) in the Blue Nile and in 2020 the first filling took place which escalated tensions in the shared waters and provoked concerns from Egypt and Sudan. The aim of the thesis is to broaden the understanding of water sharing issues by conducting a case study of the GERD developments between 2011 and the beginning of

A Scoping Review of Tools to Assess Psychosocial Stress in Humanitarian Aid Workers

This study presents a scoping review of tools to assess psychosocial stress in humanitarian aid workers, with a particular focus on the third version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ III), and an overview of interventions to address work-related stress in this population. The databases Lubsearch and PsycInfo were searched for journal publications reporting on the validity of th

Climate-neutral buildings – Impact of existing definitions on building design

Climate change poses one of the most substantial threats to humanity today global greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced drastically in the near future, it can lead to severe consequences worldwide. To address this issue, global and national goals have been developed which aim to foster climate-neutral societies and industries. Since emissions from the construction industry are shown to have a s

Towards Energy Sufficiency in the Residential Housing Sector?: Evaluating the design and implementation of policies for living space reduction in Göttingen

Energy sufficiency has been recognised as a strategy to promote sustainable energy use and achieve climate neutrality. It aims to reduce energy demand in absolute terms. ‘Living Space Reduction’ (LSR) is one way to achieve energy sufficiency in the housing sector. However, existing studies highlight significant barriers to its materialisation, including the lack of funding and expert knowledge of

Between The Public and The Journalist : The Role Of Emotion In Crowdfunded and Advocacy Journalism

From the Third World to the First

Over the past half century, Singapore has gone from a tiny island in Southeast Asia to becoming one of the world's most developed countries. Singapore's achievements are reflected not only economically, but also in its emergence as a global innovation and financial services center. The intrinsic single-case study country narrative approach will be used in this study to explore the nature a

Energy efficiency and profitability of an alkaline electrolyzer with heat and oxygen recovery

Vätgas har identifierats av EU och ett flertal länder globalt som en grundpelare i energitransitionen till ett fossIn the face of climate change, hydrogen is an important energy carrier integral to the feasibility of the renewable energy mix. This techno-economic study aims to make an initial assessment of the potential of recycling heat and oxygen from an electrolyzer. The goal is to calculate the internal rate of return and payback time of investing in a 20 MW electrolyzer and necessary auxiliary equipment f

Mitt projekt är en utforskning av arkitektur som taktik och stratBetween Sattajärvi and Tärendö in Tornedalen, Sweden the mire Kaljuvuoma extends out in the forest landscape. It has been an important site for a long time, where both haymaking and raindeer handling have been two traditional uses. It is also a place that has potential to be strengthened with architecture. My project is an exploration of architecture as a tactic and strategy in rural development

Analysis of the water quality dynamics of Lake Vomb; Interactions between water quality profile and cyanobacterial bloom in a eutrophic lake in Sweden

Lake Vomb, located in Sk˚ane, Sweden, provides water for groundwater infiltration, used for the drinking water supply of several municipalities, including Malm¨o. The lake is in a bad ecological condition with intense algae blooms during summer. Cyanobacteria dominate mentioned blooms in 2021 posing the threat of releasing cyanotoxins. The goal of this work is to asses the water quality dynamics t

Bluetooth low energy mesh logger

This thesis aims to make a prototype that does sampling from gyroscopes, accelerometers and compasses with as little as one millisecond difference between every unit that samples. Longer term tests to gather data of the characteristics of the Bluetooth low energy mesh were made. An algorithm was developed to determine the time it took for signals to travel within a bluetooth mesh network.

Småhustillverkare ser generellt positivt på produkten, Previous studies have shown that a construction of a slab foundation of wood meets the expected technical and environmental characteristics that can be expected from a foundation in general and from a more climate-neutral material. The design is also considered to be competitive both in manufacturing and cost when compared with conventional methods. Single-family home manufacturers generally view

The Construction of Mobile Places : A Study of Digital Nomad in the Chinese Context
