Photodissociation dynamics of the diamondoid adamantane induced by attosecond XUV pulses
Adamantane is the simplest of the diamondoid molecules, which due to their high stability are of high interest both in astrophysics and nanotechnology. This work investigates the molecular photodissociation after ionization by attosecond XUV pulses. The fragmentation dynamics is inferred by means of velocity map imaging spectrometry, covariance analysis techniques and quantum chemistry calculation
Production of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at high transverse momentum in Pb–Pb collisions at sNN=5.02 and 2.76 TeV
Measurements of the production of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in Pb–Pb collisions at sNN=5.02 and 2.76 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC are reported. The nuclear modification factor RAA at sNN=5.02 TeV is measured at forward rapidity (2.5
Pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles as a function of mid- and forward rapidity multiplicities in pp collisions at √s = 5.02, 7 and 13 TeV
The multiplicity dependence of the pseudorapidity density of charged particles in proton–proton (pp) collisions at centre-of-mass energies s=5.02, 7 and 13 TeV measured by ALICE is reported. The analysis relies on track segments measured in the midrapidity range (| η| < 1.5). Results are presented for inelastic events having at least one charged particle produced in the pseudorapidity interval

Cultural connotations of categorizing the environment : does the presence of a linguistic gender and noun class system in any way connect to cultural feature data?
Social studies indicate that a gendered language may limit equal opportunities for women (Jakiela and Ozier 2018). Likewise, the use of gender-neutral pronouns may improve gender equality (Tavits and Pérez 2019). We aim to investigate this issue using cross-cultural data. The studies of (Whyte 1978) and (Sanderson and Donoghue 1989) (W1978/SD1989) connect gender inequality to cultural features.Tes
Tracing the evolution of aneuploid cancers by multiregional sequencing with CRUST
Clonal deconvolution of mutational landscapes is crucial to understand the evolutionary dynamics of cancer. Two limiting factors for clonal deconvolution that have remained unresolved are variation in purity and chromosomal copy number across different samples of the same tumor. We developed a semi-supervised algorithm that tracks variant calls through multi-sample spatiotemporal tumor data. While
Complexity in the European Party Space : Exploring Dimensionality with Experts
Does the n-issue space in domestic European polities reduce to one, two, or more dimensions? How do these dimensions relate to each other? More broadly, how does dimensionality vary across countries? We attempt to advance our understanding of political contestation in Europe by mapping the dimensionality of the political space across 24 countries using Chapel Hill expert survey (CHES) data. We tes

Catch-All or Catch and Release? : The Electoral Consequences of Social Democratic Parties’ March to the Middle in Western Europe
Although the move to the center of many European Social Democratic par- ties in the 1990s was first rewarded with victories, these parties have since faced a remarkable electoral drought. What explains the seeming inability of these catchall parties to cast a wider but sustainable net for voters? Incorpo- rating a temporal dimension helps explain when and why the broadening of party platforms fails
Advancing the implementation of nature-based solutions in cities: A review of frameworks
Nature-based solutions (NBS) can help tackle climate change and advance urban sustainability by using nature to deliver social, ecological and economic benefits. However, their success largely depend on implementation for which several barriers exist. For NBS to be meaningful in terms of delivering positive impacts in cities, we need better understanding of how implementation is embedded in NBS fr

Inclusiveness, Equity, Consistency, and Flexibility as Guiding Criteria for Enabling Transdisciplinary Collaboration : Lessons From a European Project on Nature-Based Solutions and Urban Innovation
The structural research programmes of the European Union dedicated to advance thesustainability sciences are increasingly permeated by thenotion of transdisciplinarity (TD). A growing body of literature residing at the intersection of research methodology and sustainability studies can guide researchers to adopt appropriate research approaches in their projects. However, how to implement the trans

Streams, sewage, and shallow groundwater : stream-aquifer interactions in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal
The Kathmandu Valley in Nepal is facing a water quantity and quality crisis due to rapid urbanization and haphazard water and wastewater planning and management. Annually, groundwater extractions in the Kathmandu Valley exceed capture, resulting in groundwater table declines. Streams are often important sources of recharge to (or destination of discharges from) aquifers. However, stream-aquifer in

Estimation of pre-dolomitisation porosity and permeability of a nummulitic carbonate reservoir rock using the Multi-Component Architecture Method (MCAM)
The fossiliferous Eocene carbonate reservoir interval of the offshore Hasdrubal Field has a diagenetic history in which dolomitisation of micrite-rich facies has significantly enhanced reservoir quality. Using published information on the diagenetic evolution, digital textural representations of the limestones and dolostones are created using the Multi-Component Architecture Method (MCAM). This te
