Energy conservation measures (ECMs) are often chosen for their immediate benefits, such as suitability to past/current climate conditions and rapid economic returns. However, the longevity of these ECMs poses a risk of becoming outdated or ineffective as climate change alters the very climatic parameters they were designed for. This paper provides insight into the foresight required when selecting

Context. Open clusters are ideal tools for tracing the abundances of different elements because their stars are expected to have the same age, distance, and metallicity. Therefore, they serve as powerful tracers for investigating the cosmic origins of elements. This paper expands on a recent study by us, in which the element fluorine was studied in seven open clusters; here we add six open cluster

Half of parents to infants and toddlers experience unwanted intrusive thoughts (UITs) about intentionally harming their child. For some, this can lead to impaired parental self-efficacy, elevated parental stress, and symptoms of depression. Many do not disclose their thoughts due to shame. Our research group has developed a self-guided online cognitive intervention for parents with distressing UIT

In-store smart technology is rapidly transforming service delivery and value creation in the retail sector. However, despite these advances, academic acumen of customers' perceived value of their smart service interactions remains tenuous, exposing an important omission in extant literature. Addressing this gap, we conceptualize, operationalize, and validate smart service value (SSV) in the retail

We construct tradable risk factors using combinations of large and liquid mutual funds (long leg) and ETFs (exchange-traded funds) (long and short legs), based on their holdings, for both retail and institutional investors. Exploiting a novel dataset, our tradable factors take into account ETF shorting costs. We evaluate pseudo-real-time out-of-sample nowcasts for Swedish GDP employing factor models and mixed-data sampling regressions with single predictor variables. This study aims to investigate and disentangle the impact of land use and climate variability on the Baltic Sea coastal zone from a millennial perspective. To assess the environmental status of the coastal zone we make use of siliceous microfossils (mainly diatoms), stable nitrogen and carbon isotopes, organic carbon accumulation rates, and lithological changes analyzed in a sediment core collecte

Business action for sustainability is still mostly limited to ‘weakly sustainable’ activities that do not significantly change the way of doing business and only decrease negative environmental and societal impacts of doing business to a limited extent. Strongly sustainable business creates positive environmental, economic and social value and operates within the boundaries of the planet. Tools to

Many performance sport passenger vehicles use drilled or grooved cast iron brake rotors for a better braking performance or a cosmetic reason. Such brake rotors would unfortunately cause more brake dust emission, appearing with dirty wheel rims. To better understand the effects of such brake rotors on particle emission, a pin-on-disc tribometer with two particle emission measurement devices was us

Traditional comics research has focused mainly on American, Japanese, and Franco-Belgian mainstream comics as well as experimental and independent comics. What has not garnered much attention, however, are what we call ‘topical filler comics’, i.e. comics published in newsletters, trade journals, and similar media. In this talk we investigate how the Swedish topical filler comic 'Fritte' emerged i
