This chapter focuses on how sense of coherence (SOC) impacts health, mental health, QoL and health behaviour, presenting the current state of knowledge from a population and a professional perspective. The first research around the SOC concept was focused on general samples in large population studies aiming at testing the SOC scales. Thereafter, professionals in the health-care sector run researc

The vast bandwidth available at sub-THz frequencies holds great promise for high-speed wireless access, precise localization, and advanced sensing applications. However, fundamental physical constraints and technological limitations make the deployment of reliable sub-THz networks challenging. We propose a new paradigm for sub-THz coverage by transmitting the RF signals over polymer microwave fibe

This article develops Border Work (BW) as a theoretical concept and methodological approach, underexplored in socio-legal scholar-activism, through analysing two distinct examples: Noor, who applied for protection, and her individual and collective struggle for residency and the making of a manifesto against borders. While both examples depart from feminist methodology, the differences are stark:

Background: HIV-related stigma interventions targeting adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) are limited. When available, most of these interventions operate at a single socioecological level and target a single stigma domain, and participatory design is rare. Objective: This study aimed to explore the psychosocial support intervention needs of ALHIV from the perspectives of adolescents, caregivers,

Post-extrusion flow dynamics of soft matter are governed by their elasto-viscoplastic (EVP) rheological properties, which influence filament stability, die swelling, and shape fidelity in extrusion-based 3D printing. Achieving precision and control in printed structures requires optimizing yield stress, viscoelasticity, and extrusion pressure to minimize excessive die swelling and material spreadi

The ability to control the morphology of organic semiconductor nanoparticles is of paramount importance for applications in organic photovoltaics, photocatalysis, and photo-triggered biological applications. In this paper, we demonstrate that nanoprecipitation is a powerful technique to provide a variety of morphologies in binary blends of organic semiconductors. By investigating seven different d

Horizontal drift of the beam on the MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines was observed with a 1-2 hour settling time and strong dependence on the undulator power setting. A water cooled, suspended electrode was designed and is shown to reduce the horizontal beam drift on three MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines to acceptable operational levels.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by 3 core symptom complexes: parkinsonism, cerebellar syndrome, and dysautonomia. Recent Movement Disorder Society (MDS) criteria allow for the clinical diagnosis of MSA based solely on motor symptoms, without requiring dysautonomia. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency and disease trajecto

Endovascular therapy (EVT) has proven benefit for patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes with moderate-to-severe deficits, but its value in patients presenting 6-24 hours after onset with mild symptoms (NIH Stroke Scale score ≤5) remains unclear. This journal club article examines a retrospective analysis of CLEAR registry data comparing EVT with medical management

In this chapter, the salutogenic framework is applied as a theoretical foundation for health promotion. Health promotion and salutogenesis are intertwined. In this chapter, they are therefore compared using their respective value sets in the search for coherent interpretations. Some core concepts of salutogenesis and health promotion, such as health, wellbeing, quality of life and human rights are

Background The prognostic value of fractional flow reserve (FFR) in assessing coronary stenosis before transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is unclear. Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate cardiovascular risks associated with significant and nonsignificant FFR values of coronary stenosis prior to TAVR. Methods Patients were enrolled from the NOTION-3 (Nordic Aortic Valve Inter

Interference between scattering channels is observed in resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) at the Ne K threshold. Final states with |2p-1np⟩ as the main configuration are populated via |1s-1n′p⟩ resonances, where large-amplitude one-electron (n′=n) channels interfere with small-amplitude two-electron (n′≠n) channels. The interference is manifested in an asymmetric line profile where the tw

Background: Hearing loss is estimated to affect more than 20% of the global population. Hearing aid fitting is a common intervention in audiological rehabilitation; however, there are still those who struggle with remaining communication difficulties that require additional intervention. The group rehabilitation program Active Communication Education (ACE) has been shown to be an effective alterna
