Severe Head Injury. Evaluation of Acute Treatment and Rehabilitation
Popular Abstract in Swedish I denna avhandling diskuteras förbättringar inom skallskadevården både vad gäller akut behandling och rehabilitering. De två senare Mortality after severe head injury can be considerably reduce with a therapy using physiological principles for brain volume regulation and preserved microcirculation, with the main purpose of restricting the rise in ICP to reasonable levels simultaneously with preservation of adequate blood supply. This study shows that the ?Lund Concept? can reduce mortality in patients with severe traumatic bra
Fable and Lutheranization in 16th and early 17th century Sweden
This paper argues that the Reformation and the adoption of Lutheranism as a state religion had a great and lasting impact on the history of the Aesopic fable in Sweden. During the 16th and early 17th century, it is shown, the genre was explicitly Lutheranized and ascribed vital functions in the process of Lutheran confessionalization within the Swedish national state. In particular, it is demonstr
The study interprets modernity’s cultural and anthropological dispositions as historical appearances. Consequently, it is situated at the intersection of cultural sociology and historical anthropology. The aim is to generate insight and understanding rather than a coherent theory. The key element consists of combination and variation of c
Modeling Thermal Radiation With Focus on Particle Radiation in Grate Fired Furnaces Combusting MSW or Biomass: A Parametric Study
This parametric study shows that thermal radiation from particles, fly ash and char, can be highly relevant for estimating the radiative heat flux to surfaces in grate fired furnaces, especially to the hot bed. The large effects of particle radiative heat transfer come from cases with municipal solid waste (MSW) as fuel whereas biomass cases have moderate effect on the overall:radiative heat trans

Japanese Universities’ High Policy Implementability: The Introduction of Law Schools
In Japan, education has often been used by the government as a means of introducing social changes, due to its high policy implementability. The Japanese law school system is a good example to illustrate Japanese universities' high policy implementability because it was introduced when Japan needs numerous talented lawyers to operate a rule-of-law society. The idea of introducing a law school syst
TraditionelltThe People, the Axe and the Root of Injustice: the Swedish Suffrage Movement's Discourse Community 1887?1902, its Production of Meaning and the Concept of Democracy In this thesis, I present a study of the Swedish suffrage movement's discourse community. The analyses focus primarily on the core of this movement, the Swedish Public Suffrage Association (Sveriges allmänna rösträttsförbund). This as

An efficient programmable engine for interpolation of multi-standard video coding
This paper presents an efficient programmable engine that supports diverse interpolation algorithm in different video coding standards, such as H.264/AVC, and the Chinese national standard, AVS. It is a VLIW(very long instruction word) and SIMD(single instruction multiple data) hybrid architecture which could issue four ALU operations and one memory reference or a branch operation in every clock c

South Swedish diphthongisation: an articulographic and acoustic study of /u:/ in the Malmöhus dialect
We investigated lip and tongue movements of diphthongisation of /uː/ in the Malmöhus dia- lect, which is spoken in the very south of Swe- den. Articulographic and acoustic data of ten native speakers were collected and analysed. Acoustic analysis revealed fairly stable F1 and F3, but a considerable F2 movement through- out the diphthongisation, indicating that /uː/ is realised dynamically. Articul

Is there a way for constructivism to distinguish what we experience from what we represent?
When constructivism gives up reality as a way of accounting for representations it looses a powerful tool of explanation. Why do we have the representations we have? How are they interrelated? This article attempts to investigate what possible means a constructivistic theory has to maintain the distinction between representations and experience, between memory and imagination, and between correct
Implicit religion
