Detta utefterRecent studies show an increase in debt among young adults, especially young women. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between mental health, perceived loneliness, personal financial situation, consumer behavior, the use of social media and how these differ in a gender and generational context. A further aim was to study the interaction between these variables, based on prev
Focal Spot Optimization Using Spatial Light Modulation and a Phase Retrieval Algorithm
Aberrations to the wavefront of a laser beam reduce the quality of the focal spot and are generally undesired. This project is aimed at determining the aberrations of laser beams by using a phase retrieval algorithm and to show that it is possible to correct the aberrations with a spatial light modulator to optimize the focal spot. In particular, a two-dimensional phase pattern is retrieved and de

Brand Positioning Unveiled: An Insider's Perspective from Industry Professionals
Research Purpose & Aim: The purpose of this thesis is to shed light on how individual marketing- & brand-managers conceptualise and approach brand positioning. This study aims to vertically deepen the current knowledge of brand positioning in practice as well as horizontally broaden the literature by taking a unique managerial perceptual perspective. Research Question: How do brand- and m
I investigated how to design adaptable residences for a broader user group, in an existing residential area in Malmö built in the 70ties. To prevent an unnecessary expansion of the city, Malmö should grow inwards as the need for new housing increases. Many apartments built today often lack qualities that makes them adaptable for changing needs over time. They tend to fit certain use
Saturated planar laser-induced fluorescence using sinusoidal intensity modulation
Saturated laser-induced fluorescence (saturated LIF) has been the topic of some research, however mainly regarding laser diagnostic methods conducted on flames. A few papers have discussed saturated LIF with the purpose of producing saturation curves of different fluorescent elements. The utilised methods in these cases have involved manually increasing the laser intensity and detecting the fluore

Prototyping Tool for Large Scale Interactive Experiences
In the age where entertainment is the driving force behind the functioning of large industries, companies like SONY have figured out a way to market their entertainment content including movies, music, and games using large-scale interactive marketing and promotional content. Building and testing such content before it is released on large and complex devices is a continuously challenging task and
Not All Girls: Addressing Sexual and Violence-related Stigmatisations Of Former Female Child Soldiers and Children Born of War in Sahelian Crisis Mali
Non-state armed groups in Mali have recruited female child soldiers for the past 12 years in its Central and Northern regions. Some of these now-former female child soldiers (FFCS) have given birth to children of these combatants, so-called “Children Born of War” (CBOW). Both mothers and their children may experience sexual (ex. gender-based violence) and violence-related (ex. fear) stigmas in the
Heritage Assets: A Meaningful Basis For Internationalization?
A family’s involvement and ownership of a firm separates family firms from both public companies and other private firms. It is widely accepted that family firms have unique characteristics, with implications for their behavior and an impact on their internationalization. Extant research presents a need for studies on the heterogeneity observed in family firm internationalization, and has presente
Usability of Sentinel-1 C-band VV and VH SAR data for the detection of flooded oil palm
Flooding in oil palm plantations in Southeast Asia is a common problem. The oil palm’s habitable range is restricted to lowland equatorial areas, and the high rainfall and degraded landscapes associated with oil palm cultivation leaves oil palm prone to flooding. Flooding diminishes yields in mature palms, increases mortality in young palms, and disrupts operational processes. This reduces the ec

The Connection between a Multitier Private Label Portfolio and Retailer Brand Image: Investigating Consumer Perceptions
Thesis Purpose: This thesis aims to understand how a multitier private label portfolio is linked to the retailer brand image from a consumer perspective by using a case study of the Swedish grocery retailer ICA. Furthermore, we aim to comprehend the connection of the contained private labels in a multitier private label to the retailer brand image. Methodology: Based on an epistemological social c
Recombinant Cylindriform Spider silk protein production, purification and characterisation
The global need for recombinant proteins is continually growing. The world protein market was valued at 1.75 billion USD in 2021, with an expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.00% between 2022 and 2030. Recombinant proteins have proven indispensable in numerous fields. Their versatility and effectiveness have positioned them as key components in developing innovative therapies, sustain
Sovereign ESG as a path towards transformative change.
Sustainable development has led to a wave of new conceptualizations aiming to help to progress and accelerate the necessary transformation of our current systems against climate change. One of these recent concepts is the idea of transformative change that argues that a radical transformation of the economic, social, environment, cultural, and political/governance dimensions in our system need to

A Digital Phase-Locked Loop for Frequency Synthesis using an Adaptive Pulse Shrinking TDC
This thesis investigates a new type of Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) architecture which combines a phase/frequency detector (PFD) and a digital loop filter. The quantization is done by a time-to-digital converter which continuously shrinks the pulse coming from the PFD and registers how far it propagates. Based on how far into the TDC each pulse propagates, the phase error is determined. The design is f
