Vem talar samhället till genom utformningen av staden och arbetsdelningen mellan könen? Hur framställs konsumenten i köpcentrumet?

Water and salt mass balances for the Dead Sea were modeled. Precipitation, evaporation, river discharges, ground water flows, input/output from potash companies and salt production, and brine discharge were included in the models. The mixing time in the Dead Sea was modeled using a single-layer (well-mixed) a two-layer (stratified) system. Using the single-layer approach the water level was predi

The thesis is concerned with topics relating to auctions and competitive bidding. In the first chapter, the case of a procurement situation where multiple producers compete in price and quality, but are unable to commit to quality, is treated in a scoring auction context. An optimal scoring rule, for a buyer able to comittto a rule, is characterised. The second chapter is concerned with auction

A novel multitaper spectrogram estimator for Gaussian func- tions is proposed. The multitapers are the Hermite functions and a fixed number of few multitapers are used in the estimate. The weighting factors of the different spectrogram functions are optimized to give the approximative Wigner distribution for the Gaussian function. The performance of the estimator is investigated in terms of resolu

In the Middle Ages, there was an Augustinian monastery in Dalby (Scania). The article gives an overview of what we know about it, concentrating in particular on the foundation of the community c. 1070, the medieval organization of the Augustinian "Order", and the mode of life of Augustinians. The article includes an artistic representation by Petter Lönegård of what the monastery and its church (t

Several cell types and nerve tissue have been studied using a combination of microcalorimetry and other methods. The heat production rate and its pH dependence of normal and transformed 3T3 cells were studied. The transformed cells manifested a higher heat production rate and a larger anaerobic contribution to the total catabolism than did the non-transformed cells. Moreover, the transformed cell

Dessutom har det vTröger’s base was synthesized for the first time in 1887. The molecule is rigid, C2-symmetric and has a 90° angle, forming a chiral hydrophobic pocket. In this thesis, the synthesis of new analogues of Tröger’s base is described. 2- and 3-halo-substituted anilines have for the first time been condensed to Tröger’s base analogues. It has also been shown that anilines without substituents in para-po

When applied to condensed-matter samples of large organic molecules, optical spectroscopy faces the problem of inhomogeneous broadening caused by the diversity of environments and conformations that sample molecules are subjected to. This severely limits the information that can be extracted from optical spectra. Single-molecule spectroscopy offers the most natural way to overcome this problem. Π-

This paper describes a control structure assessment method in anindustrial control system. The method uses available signals to evaluate if agiven signal can be used for additional feedforward control action to improvethe performance of a control loop.
