The Subject of History

Department of History | The Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology

I took a degree as a high school teacher in social studies and history in 1997. After a five-year teaching career, I began graduate studies at the National Graduate School in History and in 2007 I defended my thesis; 'The Jews' Wagner'. Moses Pergament and the dilemma of cultural identification, circa 1920–1950. Since then, I have worked as education coordinator at the Graduate School of History and History Teaching, done research on Jewish immigrants in the 1930s and taught courses dealing with anti-Semitism, History, Jewish Swedish history, history didactics and international contemporary history. I have been co-editor of anthologies of biography writing, history didactics, Dmitry Shostakovich and Gustav Mahler and worked as a writer and critic in newspapers and journals. Since January 2013, I´m a senior lecturer at the Department of History, specializing in history teacher education.
