I am associate professor (docent) in history at Lund University and also work as a coordinator for the National Graduate School in Historical Studies. Currently, I am doing a project on psychiatric patients' life stories, 1880–1910. My latest book Hela människor (Whole Persons, 2024) deals with the patient encounter in the treatment of mental unhealth from the late 18th- to the early 20th-century.

I graduated in 2008 on my dissertation Icke som en annan människa (Not like Other Human Beings: Mental Illness in the Asylum and the Local Community in the Second Half of the 19th-Century).

I have also worked as an editor for newspapers, magazines and journals, and as a proof reader. I lecture and take on consulting assignments in my own firm. I have a master degree in Library and Information Science from Lund University.
