What Does Viewpoint Diversity Mean Today?

4 June 2025 15:15 to 16:45 Workshop

A participatory workshop on a topical question

In this collaborative workshop, we will critically study a recent text by New York Times Opinion Columnist Bret Stephens ("Viewpoint Diversity: Up to a Point"). Our own approach will be nuanced and based on study in pairs, prior to opening things up to a larger conversation.  All are welcome!

This gathering is part of a new initiative in public philosophy dedicated to topical (and sometimes controversial) questions.   In our current era of polarisation, terms such as "Viewpoint Diversity" often hold multiple and contested meanings. What would happen if we were to open ourselves to both sides of the debate?
