Human Rights at the Department of History is an interdisciplinary research environment with mainly historical, philosophical, religious studies and international legal approach. Leading research themes are history on human rights in the early modern and modern times, the rights of political philosophy and philosophy of history, religion, military and humanitarian intervention, war history, rights discourse in modern Turkey, nationalism in Thailand and women's movements in Egypt.

PhD Studies
As the only university in Sweden, we offer PhD programs in human rights. We currently have five PhD students in the subject.
